Your Opportunity:

Kentwood Place has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a casual position at their psychosocial rehabilitation transitional housing program. The LPN is a pivotal front line Nursing Role which provides clinical intervention and treatment to patients experiencing chronic mental health concerns. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of quality care following policies and guidelines of Alberta Health Services. You will also demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our patients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct resident and family centered care.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Past experience with mental health and the psychosocial rehabilitation model of care. Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships within a team dynamic. Willingness to learn new skills as required.
