le contenu du travail

Now in its 35th year of operation, Ulnooweg Development Group Inc. is an established and innovative not-for-profit organization dedicated to the success of the Indigenous communities, individuals and businesses of Atlantic Canada. It has created two other organizations - the Ulnooweg Education Centre (an education and research charity) and the Ulnooweg Indigenous Communities Foundation, a charitable foundation that is taking a lead role in building and strengthening relationships with the philanthropic sector.

The three organizations now provide a range of financial and community development services to entrepreneurs, community enterprises and Indigenous led commercial and charitable projects. The Ulnooweg Education Centre was created in 2013 and was initially focused on financial education and research. However, outside of the financial realm, there exists an abundance of opportunities for creating impactful, meaningful change in Indigenous education. As a result, in 2020, the mandate of the Centre was expanded to include creating programming to help children, youth and adults develop knowledge and skills related to employment and career opportunities, ecology, health, and culture and language. It is with this new expanded mandate that the Centre will be able to further extend its outreach and be able to create even more powerful opportunities for Indigenous learners in Atlantic Canada.
