Under direct supervision, the Junior Business Systems Analyst assists in formulating and defining system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a basic understanding of the applicable business applications. This includes analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and turning them into proper system specifications. At this level, the Junior Business Systems Analyst is developing competence to identify and consider most business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

What you’re responsible for:

  • For basic problems or change requests, gather, document, and validate detailed requirements.
  • Assist in performing detailed analysis of business functions or problems.
  • Gain an understanding of the data used within the application to develop data flow diagrams.
  • Participate in development of system testing plans.
  • Execute test scripts, working with a more senior BSA, and verify actual results against expected, reporting defects where encountered.
  • Provide input into the development of user acceptance plan as required Implementation
  • May participate in implementations as required, providing verification assistance.
  • Continue to develop an understanding of how to use job-related applications, technical components, and interfaces to other applications.

To join our team:

  • Degree or diploma in Business and/or Computer Science with less than 2 years IT or business experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Developing understanding of applicable business processes and how the applications/technology support the processes.
  • Introductory knowledge of business analysis practices, especially requirements management, design and testing
  • Some familiarity with of project management and SDLC methodologies, processes, and tools.
