The Production IT Technician Senior oversees, coordinates and monitors the IT infrastructure elements repair process, testing process. This position is part of the Mirabel Warehouse Current Operations

  • Formatting, IT assembly, Configuration, UPLOAD FIRMWARE, Back-up, Hardware Repair, upgrades
    The Position will have to follow certain priorities; however, he will have the freedom to organize his time during the day to make the work more efficient (e.g. lots, parts for the same stain). He will have to record the hours associated with the tasks accomplished to ensure the distinction between billable and guaranteed. He will have to report any anomaly or log of his work to his supervisor
    Setup and verify/test new PCs for clients
    Test other products (Gateway, KVM, boards, switches)
    Communicate with suppliers regarding returns, status of shipments, error solution
    Retrieve backups from working, dying or marginal PCs
    Repair PCs
    Perform upgrades for replacement PCs & upgrades to new Alliance versions as they released by R&D and create images with support from R&D
    Record data to build sheets and place to database & keep production spreadsheet up to date (Lonworks licenses balance)
    Verifies all goods before shipping.
    Perform physical yearly inventory count.
    Advise purchasing when shipping products need to be ordered
    Work with supply chain to maintain acceptable stock levels
    New models of PC set up for Alliance
    Deep testing of PCs for new apps (eg new Lonworks card)
    Extensive analysis of new operating systems (Win10).

  • Qualifications
    • Minimum DEC or 4 year degree combination of education and experience or any other equivalent; Technical training profile electronic, IT, Infrastructure or any other diploma technician in specialized IT
    • Computer skills and able to understand IT environment.
    • Evolution from transistors, integrated circuits to Microprocessors,
    • Memory evolution from Kbyte to Gbyte. On-board disk controller vs powerful SCSI controller.
    • Understanding the importance of System and controller Cache/memory for performance.
    • BIOS knowledge for interaction with Software operating system;
    • Understanding basic command on the new UEFI shell now present on recent motherboards.
    • Software Operating Systems and Application Programs
    • Understanding of basic machine language digital computer instructions to now-a-day more powerful computer languages and Web communications protocols.
    • Good knowledge of older Microsoft operating systems as Windows 98, Window XP and Win7
    • Very good knowledge on Windows 10 operating system Command prompt language ’,bat .cmd’
    • Common knowledge on the ’Windows Power Shell’ language and commands.
    • Network knowledge
    • Good knowledge and experience on TCP/IP protocols, PPP protocols, Routers, LAN and Wireless LAN.
    • Good knowledge on DHCP, Static and Dynamic addressing in local LAN
    • Knowledge Hardware IT (Printers, UPS, Multiplexers,)
    Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface.
