Overview:
Barnard Flatiron LP—a joint venture partnership between Barnard Constructors of Canada, LP (Barnard) and Flatiron Constructors Canada Ltd (Flatiron)—is designing and constructing the Green Line LRT Project in Calgary, AB. The project will connect Calgary’s southeastern neighbourhoods to downtown and existing transportation networks through 18 km of LRT track, including 2 km of tunnel under the Beltline and downtown. Barnard and Flatiron are teamed together as development partners along with WSP Canada Inc and EllisDon Capital Inc, forming Bow Transit Connectors (BTC). BTC will deliver this transformative expansion to the City of Calgary, bringing the City’s vision to life.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Computer/Information Science, Computer Engineering or a related degree field. Equivalent experience in an IT related position will also be considered.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in the IT field.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Experience working directly with customers and/or end users.
  • Computer troubleshooting experience.
  • Ethernet and phone cable wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with drive imaging technologies such as Microsoft WDS.
  • Some local travel and after-hours support will be expected
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for workstation, peripheral, software, conferencing, and wired/wireless networking support inquiries from employees
  • Provide technical support in person, over the phone, and remote connection to client systems
  • Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software to ensure proper functionality and compliance with company policy
  • Create “gold” images for use in our deployment of employee computers
  • Help manage the MS Apps environment for our ~100 users
  • Create/delete/manage AzureActiveDirectory and email accounts
  • Spec out and procure IT hardware and some software
  • Coordinate with our many vendors to provide a comprehensive environment for our users
  • Configure and set up equipment for new employees, assistance in moving employees around the office
  • Assist as needed with IT projects
  • Help steer the technologies used by the organization
