POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Commercial Account Manager who will leverage his or her interpersonal strengths and network to generate new business opportunities while managing a portfolio of existing clients. Your main objective: to have an impact on the success of entrepreneurs with sales between $0 (start-up) and $2M through our financing solutions and advisory services adapted to their needs. CHALLENGES TO BE MET


In a typical week, you would:

  • Develop and execute action plans aligned with BDC’s objectives to ensure current clients needs are serviced, while also forming relationships with potential new clients to create a pool of business opportunities.
  • Meet with entrepreneurs, existing and prospective clients. You’ll be identifying and discussing each entrepreneur’s business goals in order to identify and support them with BDC financial services and products.
  • Analyze, negotiate and present financing proposals while exercising credit judgement
  • Be active in the local business community by networking within various associations and chambers of commerce in order to develop business relationships and obtain references that will facilitate new client acquisition


REQUIREMENTS

  • Must self identify as First Nations/Metis/Inuit
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in commerce, business administration or an equivalent area of study
  • Have an interest in entrepreneurship and business development, with 3 to 5 years of experience in the business world
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team working skills
