Northwestel is seeking an energetic and innovative individual to join our Human Resources team!

Reporting to the Manager Operational Effectiveness, you will be responsible for enhancing and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations in the Human Resources and Executive Office while providing strong administrative support services to the teams (including the President when required).

Specific Accountabilities

  • Ensure that confidential/sensitive information is always safeguarded.
  • Provide administrative support to HR and as a back up to the Executive including but not limited to the HR internal webpage, meetings, expense processing, presentations, etc.
  • Manage all the logistics related to relocations and corporate apartments.
  • Monitor, create, and maintain Security Access ID requests ensuring accurate access is maintained.
  • Create and maintain filing systems, archive, or coordinate disposal of old files.
  • Support Executive Assistant to the President during peak times, including strategic planning, Board meetings, vacation coverage and other special events.
  • Maintain office supplies and arrange for equipment repairs.
  • Other projects or tasks as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Completion of a Secretarial, Office Administration or Administration Assistant certificate program.
  • Three years of executive level administrative work experience in a corporate environment supporting senior managers.
  • Outstanding planning, organization, coordination, and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to anticipate requirements, meet deadlines, prioritize, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Self motivation and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of accountability for all assigned tasks.
  • Excellent verbal, written, electronic (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail) and related communication skills.
  • Capability to type at least 60 words per minute.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
