Term:
Full-time: one-year contract, possibility of extension upon completion of year 1
Part-time: on a fixed-term contract basis

Salary:
Full-time position: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00/Annually, depending on experience + performance-based bonus
Part-time position: to be discussed, project-based

Workplace:Online and remote work via Zoom. In-site advising at our Kerrisdale office post pandemic or when viable.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Advising Grade 8 - 11 students on academic/college/career planning
• Advising Grade 12 students on college application process
• Providing guidance and feedback on personal statement and other college essays
• Keeping organized records of student progress, following up with students weekly
• Helping to develop effective and standardized college prep consulting curriculum
• Leading college prep classes lectures, seminars, and workshops

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Completion of university (MA a plus)
• Superior writing and communication skills
• Teaching experience a plus
• Experience advising students in college preparation and career planning
• Affinity for working with high school aged students
• Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of US college application system
• Thorough knowledge of US colleges and universities a plus
• You should be: optimistic, results-oriented, organized, driven (can manage own time)
• Ability to carry out various tasks, desire to have high impact in a start-up environment

• Familiar with Canadian high school system a plus
