In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of rail shipments of various commodities across Suncor. This includes planning railcar placements in multiple facilities (including Edmonton, Montreal, and Sarnia Refinery), planning and providing loading instructions to operating staff, entering data in SAP and reporting of rail car movements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced and dynamic work environment where the individual will be required to handle a large amount of data, problem solve while working with many stakeholders. The candidate will need to have strong computer administration skills, ability to analyze data and adaptable to changing requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Post-secondary education
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in Transportation & Logistics
  • Relevant experience in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
  • Experience in handling large amount of data with accuracy
  • Strong MS skills with Excel and Outlooks. Ability to filter, create pivot tables, match data with various lookup functions, manipulate, clean up data, and handle a large amount of information through emails.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute daily railcar loading plans with operations in a timely fashion for multiple refineries, transloaders and terminals and make necessary adjustments as required
  • Submit and confirm shipping instructions for all rail movements
  • Input rail movement data such as origins, destinations, volumes, etc to record product movement, sales, and purchases for 200+ transactions daily
  • Act as a main contact with railways for operational issues
  • Trouble shoot irregular railcar movements
  • Complete daily and month end reporting / reconciliation and troubleshoot issues
  • Work with internal IT and other Suncor representatives to trouble shoot issues, implement changes or new setups in various systems
  • Work closely with other team members and internal / external stakeholders to understand daily requirements.
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way
  • The hours of work are shift-based (daytime hours; however, early start times) and you will be required to work weekends and holidays
