Diversified Staffing Services, Alberta’s leading staffing agency is currently recruiting a Dispatcher.

Specific Duties:

The following specific duties to be performed on a daily basis, employee overtime control for drivers and warehouse, OS&D (Overages - Shortages - Damage) documentation, Driver logs / hours, Maintains current equipment locations.

The dispatcher is responsible for including all chargeable items (demurrage, over 1 hour load or 1 hour unload on all freight bills. LTL, Sales appointment bookings, Swamper bookings, night and weekend bookings, brokering.

Documentation control, if a load is delivered in your city, it is your responsibility to collect POD within 24 hours of delivery. If the delivery is outside of the city, but still in your area of responsibility, you have 48 hour to collect the POD. This is to facilitate effective billing and paperwork control.

Knowledge of:

• Oral and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Skills in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems, user skills in E-mail Applications.
• Effective time management skills.
• Basic math.
• Proper paperwork management, completing paperwork for each task.
• Health and Safety standards
• Alberta motor transport rules that apply to the industry

Ability to:

• Operate computerized trucking software and other programs
• Strong knowledge of Excel
• Direct the proper movement of information to maximize efficiency and reduce waste
• Determined a schedule of pick up, delivery; maintain accurate log book
• Communicate clearly and efficiently both orally and in writing
• Operate a variety of standard office equipment including computers, photocopiers, and fascimile equipment
• Mainatin cleanliness of assigned area

***This is not a remote or hybrid position***

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• dispatching: 3 years (preferred)
