Volcano Construction is looking for demo laborers in Dartmouth, NS !

Responsibilities:

• Use tools and manual labourto remove unsound structures, mold-damaged carpeting and flooring, and other building materials that cannot be restored or repaired
• Breaking up concrete, removing roofs, and tearing down walls
• May include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools and machines such as blowtorches, forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment
• Assembles scaffolding and seals off work area, using plastic sheeting and duct tape
• Positions mobile decontamination unit or portable showers at entrance of work area
• Removes asbestos from ceilings, walls, beams, boilers, and other structures, following hazardous waste handling guidelines
• Positions portable air evacuation and filtration system inside work area
• Sprays chemical solution over asbestos covered surfaces, using tank with attached hose and nozzle, to soften asbestos
• Cuts and scrapes asbestos from surfaces, using knife and scraper
• Seals asbestos containing bags, using duct tape, and loads bags into truck

Requirements:

• Must be safe work minding and follow Health and Safety guidelines
• Clean criminal record
• Proficient with tools
• Drivers license and clean abstract considered an asset
• Asbestos awareness Certificate (will provide)
