Job Description
The Data Operations Consultant contributes to towards ProCogia’s mission to enable our customers to make intelligent and agile decisions through strategically tailored data solutions. The Data Operations Consultant works with our customers to design, build, configure, manage and scale the infrastructure needed to perform data analytics and data science at scale. The Data Operations Consultant utilizes best practices in CI/CD, container orchestration and Quality Assurance to ensure that data infrastructure is robust and scalable to meet the needs of its users and has clear, concise documentation.

Responsibilities
The Data Science Consultant has the following responsibilities and duties:
- Consult with key stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Plan out work in an agile framework, taking part in internal daily scrum meetings and other agile activities as adopted by the team.
- Design, build and test solutions to customer problems in a robust manner.
- Dockerize applications and utilize container orchestration software such as Kubernetes to achieve the necessary scale and robustness of the infrastructure.
- Design, implement and monitor dashboards and alerts for the health of data infrastructure
- Ensure that data infrastructure is well designed and documented.
- Design and test solutions in development environments before migrating tested solutions to the production environment
- Ensure security and other customer expectations are met and exceeded.
- Actively take part in and contributes to key customer facing meetings.
- Be a thought leader, understanding customer problems and proposing solutions that most effectively solve them.
- Keep up to date with best practices and continuously seeks to learn new skills.
- Validate new skill development through pursuit of relevant certifications.
- Contribute towards the growth of the business by observing opportunities for upselling or cross-selling within the customer organization.
- Contribute to development of the delivery team and their practice area through participating in internal TED talks, mentoring junior team-mates and developing reusable training materials and standard operating procedures.
- Contributes to the broader business through involvement in recruiting, marketing and sales activities.
- Contribute to the overall collaborative and innovative culture of the company by taking part in group events and spearheading initiatives that grow the company and help make life at ProCogia more enjoyable for all.
The Data Analytics Consultant should have the following skills, education and experience:
Skills
- Python, Scala or other Development Tool
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Dashboarding for Monitoring Infrastructure Health (Grafana preferred)
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Cloud Native Tools
- Strong Networking Knowledge
- Cloud Technology (AWS preferred)
- Command Line Scripting in Unix like systems
- Solutions Architecting with diagramming tools
- Experience setting up and managing data infrastruture tools such as RStudio Teams, Jupyter, Zeppelin, Databricks etc.
- Big Data Tools such as Kafka, Hadoop and Spark
- Designing, implementing and configuring Clusters for Data Products (Spark and Hadoop).
- Utilization of Cluster Management software (Mesos, Yarn etc)
- Required:
- Bachelors in computer science, software/computer engineering, mathematics or related degree
- Preferred:
- Masters or PhD in computer science, software/computer engineering, mathematics or related degree.
- An experienced professional will have at least 3 years of professional experience in a data related role with a Masters Degree or 5 years of experience in a data related role with a Bachelors degree.
