The Rogers Information and Cyber Security Unit is seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Specialistto join our Cyber Security Platforms Operations team. This role is responsible for participating in our security program through the support and maintenance of Rogers’s cybersecurity platforms and technologies. Reporting to the Manager, CCyber Security Platforms, the incumbent will be tasked with providing support to Rogers’ cybersecurity technologies, which includes the monitoring of system stability, implementation of system changes, system administration, and response to systems issues.


Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

  • Focus on support of security technologies at an enterprise level.
  • Support a multi facet SIEM architecture adhering to design documents including functional and technical specifications.
  • Participating in the support of various solutions (Antivirus, SIEM, IPS, ect.) across environments in the enterprise.
  • Providing technical support services to develop enterprise security solutions and support production issues.
  • Determining system architecture specifications and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Contributing to the delivery of security projects and programs.
  • Participate in overnight maintenance windows as scheduled by project or production needs.
  • Take part in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.


Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in hands-on technical integration expertise of IT solutions and system administration with a focus on security.
  • Experience with intelligence management solutions.
  • Defining enterprise security solution requirements.
  • Installing and configuring SIEM software for Enterprise solutions
  • Using the SIEM solution console to investigate security incidents at an Enterprise level.
  • Fine tuning of use cases to minimize False-positive for monitoring and alerting.
  • Creation of system generated reports for aggregation of data or regular reporting.
  • Supporting administrative content which includes access rights, rules, dashboard, capacity, performance monitoring, etc.
  • End to End system support working with teams and vendors to investigate problems to resolution.
  • Support SOC investigations, help extract relevant data, and provide supporting evidence.
  • Experience communicating technical points to others at the technical, user, and management levels.
  • Team oriented, with extensive experience in working in complex technical projects.
  • Autonomous and ability to accept responsibility with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Experience in participating in the recommendation of security best practices for the design and configuration of security solutions.
  • Technical certification with major security vendors an asset.
  • Bachelor or specialized college degree in Computer Science, System Engineering or another related IT program an asset.
  • Professional designation such as CISSP, CISM, etc. an asset.
