Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our preschool team as a custodian. As the preschool custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students, staff, and visitors. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our preschool facilities are well-maintained and meet the highest standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, wiping down surfaces, and sanitizing high-touch areas

- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal of waste

- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring that they are stocked with necessary supplies

- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, such as hallways, classrooms, and offices

- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be ordered

- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for special events or activities

- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor in a timely manner

- Follow all health and safety guidelines and regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals

- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a clean and organized environment for students and staff

- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work, preferably in an educational or childcare setting

- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and best practices for maintaining a clean and safe environment

- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with attention to detail

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required

- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.50-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
