Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate cook to join our preschool team. As the preschool cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to our young students. You will work closely with our teachers and staff to ensure that our students receive healthy and delicious meals that meet their dietary needs.

Responsibilities:

- Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks for preschool students, following established menus and recipes

- Ensure that all meals and snacks are nutritious, well-balanced, and meet the dietary requirements of the students

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of food items

- Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations

- Collaborate with teachers and staff to accommodate any special dietary needs or restrictions of students

- Order and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring that stock levels are adequate at all times

- Assist with the setup and cleanup of the dining area before and after meals

- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices

- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working as a cook, preferably in a preschool or similar setting

- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children

- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations

- Ability to plan and prepare meals that are nutritious, appealing, and appropriate for preschool-aged children

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

- High school diploma or equivalent

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

• Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
