Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview

Reporting to the Charge Technologists – Imaging & Laboratory, this individual, as a member of the Diagnostic Services support team, is responsible for the operation of the site’s office and reception area, supervising staff and establishing daily work assignments. In addition, provides diversified clerical, reception, scheduling, secretarial, transcription, accounting functions and other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years hospital/medical clinic experience in a multi- discipline office environment performing work involving direct public contact and dealing with diagnostic services information.
  • Training and experience in supervision of staff.
  • Recent experience with office equipment including transcription/dictation equipment, computers, fax machines, and copiers.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade XII graduate as recognized in the Province of Manitoba.
  • Completion of a recognized Secretarial/Business Office or Medical Stenographer/Transcription training program.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of a Medical Terminology Course or demonstrated comprehension, knowledge and competency of medical terminology essential.
  • Computer training with knowledge of Windows environment and experience with MS Office Suite of applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting process and mathematical skills an asset.
  • Demonstrated typing/keyboarding skills (minimum of 60 wpm)
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures.
