Primary Functions

As an integral part of the University of Regina, Information Services supports students, faculty and staff. Information Services does this by ensuring that knowledgeable personnel, services, and technologies are available to foster learning, teaching, research and effective university administration.
Information Services is seeking an individual proficient in the practices of project management and business systems analysis. Reporting to the Manager of the IS-PMO, the incumbent would support departments with business needs assessment, business workflow, business requirements gathering, application identification, selection, and implementation of these new quality systems.
The position’s primary functions are to:
  • Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders, be they customers or end-users.
  • Working within an established departmental project management framework, plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and administrative systems in support of core institutional functions and processes.
  • Analyze and design business process requirements for all IT-related business, financial, and operations systems critical to core institutional functions.
  • Coordinate and review in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Specific Accountabilities
  • Will work on one or many projects concurrently.
  • Provide project leadership on projects as deemed appropriate by their supervisor.
  • Provide coordination of training to end users for all modified and new systems.
  • Assist with the development of user documentation manuals.
Position Requirements
Technical Requirements
  • A university degree in either computer science, business administration, commerce, education, or another related discipline combined with 5 years of experience directly related to the duties outlined.
  • Possession of a project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 or a Certified Business Analyst Professional certification is preferred. If an individual does not possess one of these certifications, there will be an expectation that the individual demonstrate that they have practiced project management and business analysis during their career.
  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in the areas of application programming, report development, database and system design would be an asset.

Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 7 Salary Range $76,245 - $102,901 Annually Status Term Work Hours
