BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST
The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited’s group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. With five operating units within the division, the group provides heavy equipment and crane services, civil construction, modular home and commercial buildings, wallboard manufacturing, and steel and fabrication services to its customers.
We currently have an engaging opportunity for a Business Intelligence Specialist. This role will appeal to recent graduates of IT, Computer Science, Business, and Engineering programs. In this role, you will utilize top technology and work with a supportive team that will drive you to be your best. The Business Intelligence Specialist will be a strong technical resource who works as a part of the Business Intelligence (BI) Team collaboratively with Business Analysts & Operational Leaders. The successful candidate will develop new analysis and reporting capabilities for multiple business lines and provide quality enterprise solutions following best practices and lead the organization through best-in-class analytic solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and dashboards
- Acquire data from varying sources and apply data cleansing for further use by other analysts
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Create data driven presentations for varying audience levels
Technical and Behavioral Skills:
- Create Data visualizations and dashboards
- Familiar with data blending and cleansing
- Create complex data queries and calculations
- Familiar with common database systems and structures
- Microsoft Office tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High level of curiosity and attention to detail, and self-motivation
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- The ability to lead a project
- User Experience focused
