Develops, promotes, maintains and manages an assigned business/group vendor management program for the completion of contracts and partnerships with Technology suppliers/service providers.

  • Responsible for the negotiation of third-party agreements with specific focus on technology related products and services; coordinates with legal, procurement and other stakeholders as required
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and ensures alignment between stakeholders; includes developing an understanding of technology’s needs and expectations
  • Influences and negotiates to achieve objectives; seeks opportunity to minimize costs
  • Conducts analysis to inform recommendations; effectively communicate to all managerial levels
  • Responsible for onboarding new vendors, including management of the risk assessments, providing sound judgement in the assessment process, acting as a subject matter expert for our technology managers
  • Ensures compliance with the Bank’s enterprise third party risk management policy
  • Understands the Bank’s risk appetite as it relates to outsourcing and supplier risk
  • Provides on-going vendor management support to address quality and legal issues
  • Acts as the lead in any vendor dispute that involves legal resolution
  • Provides effective reporting to the CIOs and LTOs that will aid in the overall management of their contracts/vendors.
  • Reviews draft contracts for risks and key terms, negotiating contractual language with suppliers
  • Modifies, renews, terminates contracts as required.
  • Responsible for financial forecasts for licensed applications; including validation of actual costs
  • In conjunction with Project Managers and Senior Technology Officers, validates that funding is in place; understands financial treatments and provide guidance to managers in completing their forecasts
  • Works with peers in overall financial management and risk management
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • University degree/college diploma preferably in business or technology related field of study.
  • Past experience working in a technology related project delivery capacity such as business analysis, project management or an operational support function is an asset
  • Possess general knowledge of technology infrastructure and business application software specific to Commercial Banking is an asset
  • Client management expertise capable of building strong working relationships within a Technology team and other corporate functional areas
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in vendor management (SW licenses, vendor hosted services, professional services) and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of the supplier management life cycle and risk management,
