This Design Engineer job is Different!

The Design Engineer provides pre-sales support by acting as a technical consultant to the sales team, generating system descriptions, flow diagrams and equipment lists to enable creation of customer proposals. The Design Engineer is also utilized by the post sales team for project engineering and/or on-going project consultation.

Responsibilities:

· Review pre-construction design and documentation.

· Aid with technical design and level of effort needed by estimating hours and highlighting logistical challenges for the sales team to consider while pricing the opportunity.

· Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculation, acoustical modeling or other data as required

· Identify all cabling and miscellaneous material needs; design wall plates and overlays.

· Assist Account Manager with labor and material estimates for projects.

· Provide on-going engineering support as needed

· Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

· At least five years of AV experience is preferred

· Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred

· Proven business writing skills

· Proficient with test and calibration equipment, able to translate customer requirements into functional system designs

· Advanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment and diagnose complex system problems

· Support user acceptance testing

· Ability to program, change and troubleshoot (AMX/Crestron)

· Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues

· Ability to travel to various job sites as required.

· Ability to speak and write fluent English/French
