Reporting to the Sales Support Director, the Bid Manager supports GTY’s Sales Teams by quarterbacking and preparing RFP responses. Specifically, this role will be in support of three of GTY’s Business Units: eCivis, Questica and Sherpa. The successful candidate is creative, driven, organized and capable of managing multiple assignments and prioritizing competing demands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership for GTY’s RFP response strategy. Review processes and make recommendations for improvements.
- Lead RFP kickoff meetings and project manage response teams. Set project charters using workback schedules and hold team members accountable for their deliverables.
- Research customer details including values, mission statement and objectives and requirements, and incorporate key principles into tailored executive summaries for each proposal response.
- Prepare initial drafts of all RFI and RFP responses. Be highly skilled in determining unique customer requirements and writing articulate and concise responses to unique criteria. Ensure response preparation is both professional and timely.
- Take ownership for final submissions, including print and ship where required.
- Manage communications with procurement personnel at prospect organizations when in a bid cycle.
- Maintain and update the Master RFP template documents to keep them current with the most recent and accurate information.
- Utilize CRM to document activities and update customer records.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in writing and responding to RFPs
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a leading University
- Experience in supporting software sales strongly preferred
- Experience in supporting Public Sector sales (MUSH) strongly preferred
- Experience supporting sales in US markets strongly preferred
- Experience with finance, accounting, budgeting and forecasting will be an asset
- Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High competency in written English. Capable of articulating potentially complex concepts in language that is clear and concise
