Position:Full-Time Afternoon Announcer

Location:Kelowna, British Columbia

We have a rare opening for a Full-Time Afternoon Announcer for Kelowna’s MOVE 101.5. If you can host an entertaining, locally-focused show geared towards adults aged 25-54, post relevant content and interact with listeners on social media, and enjoy meeting listeners face-to-face at local events and remotes, this could be the right opportunity for you!

MOVE 101.5 is Kelowna’s Best Variety playing music from 2000-now, along with 80s and 90s throwbacks.

Now For The “official Stuff”

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing, planning, and executing a dynamite show that is local and connected.
  • Voicetracking for other Bell Media stations in the B.C. market
  • Making and editing video content with your above average Social Media skills for all platforms
  • Killer public speaking ability and must LOVE Remote broadcasts and station appearances
  • Deliver amazing customer service both internally with staff and externally with clients and listeners
Skill Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in broadcasting, or related experience.
  • At least 2 years on-air experience (outside of school).
  • Must be extremely motivated and a self-starter.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication, writing and creativity.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Have genuine interest in current events in the community
  • Knowledge of Wide Orbit and Music Master definitely an asset.
  • A valid class 5 BC driver’s license (or equivalent).
