In this role, you’ll be working with many different business areas and be responsible for performing a variety of complex accounting support, including reconciliations, and initiating accounting transactions.

​​​​​ Reconcile bank accounts, inventory and vendor accounts
Investigate and initiate corrections
Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial processes and input of data
Provide ongoing support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy, integrity and timeliness of accounting transactions.
Collaborate and provide direction with other City departments ensuring corporate wide consistency and assuring compliance with all financial policies.
Maintain filing systems in accordance with branch procedures and corporate records management policies and procedures. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of accounting principles, policies, procedures, processes, and systems
Knowledge of public sector accounting
Knowledge of bank operations and cash management practices and policies
Knowledge of accounting and enterprise software
Able to explain and exchange technical information one-on-one
Able to explain and exchange policy, procedure, and process information one-on-one
Able to Identify issues, consult, and follow policy and procedure
Able to prioritize with multiple timelines/deadlines Education & Experience
Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of a two (2) year Diploma in Accounting or education equivalent, combined with five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in a municipal environment.
