Are you a passionate self starter looking to help a local Red Deer craft beverage company grow?

Troubled Monk is adding a full time accountant to our growing team!

The successful candidate will support the company’s overall strategic financial and operations plans. This role is responsible for the maintenance of the company’s financial policies, its accounting and internal controls, the record keeping, financial reporting, and cost accounting. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

Duties include:

• Maintain the company’s financial records (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations)
• Handle issuing of checks / payment of invoices and AP process
• Prepare monthly / quarterly financial statements
• Liaise with sales and production staff and support them in accounting and reporting needs related to their program areas.
• Oversee accounts receivable
• Complete Payroll Functions
• Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts.
• Review bill of materials and cost accounting polices on all manufactured items
• Provide technical support to users of the brewery management system
• Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization
• Support with the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, establish and maintain other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system) and analyze report variances
• Create internal management reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient and furnish external reports as necessary
• Submitting accounting/ financial date to the AGLC
• Oversea cash management and cash budgets
• Oversea reconciliation of daily cash out reports

• Assist inventory counts for financial reporting purposes

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience in financial management and/or completion of a post secondary accounting program
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets/Documents
• Manufacturing / Cost Accounting experience considered an asset
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Experience with Quickbooks
