• Position #1 – 1.0 FTE Start Date: As soon as possible End Date: December 3, 2021
• Position #2,3,4,5 – 1.0 FTE Start Date: As soon as possible End Date: June 15, 2022

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:

Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;

Experience working with youth;

Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset;

Recent experience supporting children with special educational needs including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities would be an asset;

Experience integrating trauma sensitive/developmentally responsive approaches to responding to student needs would be an asset.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:

Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;

Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;

Ability to work as a member of a team;

Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;

Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;

Ability to work with minimal supervision;

Ability to support student academic skill development up to grade 8 level.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Security Clearance (Vulnerable Sector Check) prior to starting work;

Standard First Aid Certificate or a willingness to complete within 3 months;

Completion of the Educational Assistant Module by the end of the 2021/22 school year.
