Arcadis Canada is seeking a Foreman Operator to join our team to service our Ontario operations. Ideal candidate should be local to Port Hope, ON.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to-
  • Arrive on site on time and be willing to work on a variety of different tasks throughout the day. Must be willing to travel to project sites that may include out of town projects. (90% travel)
  • Be responsible for the maintenance and inspection of provided equipment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisor on site work with subcontractors and other site stakeholders to carry out tasks as instructed with safety in mind.
  • Be prepared to complete heavy equipment operations in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Operate equipment in a professional and safe manner. Operators will be required to complete a competency test for knowledge of equipment, inspection, maintenance and operation.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service.

  • Follow site rules and company policies
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance (inspections, greasing, fueling)
  • Strong ability to learn quickly, analyze information, and problem solve
  • Be able to take instructions from supervision on site and carry out tasks as instructed unsupervised with safety in mind
  • Must be proficient at operating Heavy Equipment (Excavator, Bulldozer) to complete a variety of tasks (bulk excavation, loading trucks, fine grade work, trenching, backfilling, and etc.)
  • Be able to communicate and work with coworkers and supervision in a positive manner
  • A willingness to occasionally work long hours, atypical hours or weekends
  • May be required to go through background checks for some project sites
  • Must have valid driver’s license and means of travel to construction sites
  • Previous experience in Heavy Civil Construction
  • Experience running rock trucks, skid steers are an asset
  • Any additional construction training including- MOL Step Up to Safety, WHIMIS, First Aide, Chainsaw Tickets, Propane Tickets, Forklift Tickets, Heavy Equipment Training, Health and Safety Rep Training, Fall Arrest, Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Hoisting and Rigging, Elevating Work Platform, Traffic Control/Signaling, Excavation Safety or others is an asset
Qualifications
Required Qualifications-
  • Construction experience is a requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years of equipment operation on equipment.
Preferred Qualifications-

  • Hold valid tickets for Heavy Equipment preferred.
