Job Summary

The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into five work groups (Finance Corporate, Finance Wholesale, Finance Retail, Shared Services, and Regulatory & Compliance) and provides financial services to all LDB divisions. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB’s enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

The Regulatory Analyst conducts compliance checks and inventory counts within established program parameters and procedures. The Analyst also performs research, analysis and reconciliation activities in support of the unit’s compliance objectives. The Analyst works as part of a team and interacts with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in commerce, business administration or similar discipline with a specialization in accounting. Individuals pursuing their CPA designation are preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in conducting financial analysis and/or audits within the last five years.

Preference may be given to candidates with any of the following experience:

  • Related experience in conducting financial analysis in a regulatory compliance role within the last five years.
  • Experience in beverage alcohol industry/supply chain or wholesale/retail operations.
