Finance Manager/Controller (Executive Support)

Employment Type: Full Time – Position to start October 15 2021 or later - To cover a maternity leave with the potential for extension based on performance and growth

Job Industry: Casino/Horseracing/Events

Schedule: Generally Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm (may be some trade off evening/weekends)

Compensation package: Salary based on experience and benefits package

Our Company has been in business for 25+ years and is a respected industry leader in this field (Economic Impacts to Lethbridge/Southern Alberta in 2019 approximately $50 million; direct employment 90 and indirect of 730+/- secondary employment).

Our company is seeking a hand on experienced controller/executive support to ensure the finance function is up to date and organized for the entire organization. The right candidate needs to be able to take initiative, highly organized, hands on, outgoing, independent, analytical, detailed-oriented and results driven professional. Report to the Owner/CEO.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee the operation of accounting office and cash cage;

Input and maintain all financial records;

Preparing budgets and financial forecasts;

AR/AP/Collections/Payroll;

Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting, including analysis;

Prepare year-end files and assist external audit;

Responsible for all government remittances – GST, payroll, etc.;

Review monthly reconciliation of all accounts;

Maintaining cost control and cash flow;

Responsible for health benefit package, Worker’s Comp, etc.;

Work closely with government agencies to ensure compliance;

Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations;

Working closely with CEO/Owner on business solutions, projects and business development;

Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred (or comparable business experience);

Minimum 4 years of controller or similar senior management position;

Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills, reliable, attention to details and team player.

Able to wear many hats and assist in various areas of the company if needed.

Proficiency with Sage 50 and Microsoft Office applications;

Knowledge in Gaming and/or Horseracing industry is an asset;

Clean criminal record check;

Reference is required upon a meaningful interview;
