As we continue to scale our business within a rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape, We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to ensure that our business is operating effectively and efficiently. Key duties include corporate accounting, internal controls & documentation, treasury management, regulatory and financial reporting, taxes, insurance, and financial risk management.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Managing accounting operations (Billing, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory and Revenue Recognition)
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
  • Creating monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations
  • Assist in developing, standardizing, and implementing appropriate internal controls
  • Streamlining and improving accounting systems and operations
  • Overseeing the management of cash flow and debt/debt collection
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the company and support departments to ascertain their requirements
  • Liaise with a tax consultant to ensure that all tax reporting deadlines are met
  • Stay current and abreast of relevant IFRS developments that impact the company
  • Managing the audit process and liaising with external firms as required
  • Maintain the renewals on company insurance
  • Contributing to company financial strategy and decision-making processes
  • Active involvement in the financial implication of new business including review of acquisition targets and other external M&A activity / due diligence globally
  • Assisting the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
  • Team Management including objective setting, review, and ongoing personal development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Accounting designation (CA/CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience in IT services and/or public accounting with several years in a senior management role
  • Experience with creating financial statements for Opco, Holdco, private & public organizations
  • Strong proven previous experience of leading and managing staff and working in an international environment
  • Proficient with Excel, accounting systems, and general IT
  • Experience with implementing new systems
  • Fully conversant in IFRS and US GAAP
  • Experience with international tax jurisdictions is an asset
  • Strong technical finance skills with the ability to understand complex financial statements
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the different time zones of the office locations
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative, managing own time and workload
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively amongst all levels of the organization
  • Reliable, committed, supportive, and acts in a professional manner
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst delivering to a high standard
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training
