We’re looking for a Financial Analyst with effective communication skills. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team. This role’s primary duties will consist of implementing financial modeling on various financial products as well as measure, analyze, and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. Further tasks will consist of advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is located in the Ottawa, Ontario, and it is a permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
• Survey performance to date and assess potential opportunities and risks
• Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required
• Provide valuable foresight and decision support through effective Business Intelligence (BI)
• The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is comfortable with large amounts of information and adept at managing expectations
• Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, strategic resource allocation and prioritization, and event tracking and execution
• Work closely with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close processes
• Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources
• Endorse weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings as well as P& L forecasting
• Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
• Produce and manage forecasting reports
  

Requirements

• Property Management experience
• Foundational knowledge in international financial reporting standards
• Proven knowledge of financial reporting-mandatory
• IFRS Accounting experience highly desired
• Financial analysis experience
• Command of commercial real estate
• Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
• 3+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
• CPA Required
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
• Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
• Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience suggested)
• Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
• Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
