SUMMARY:

The Capital Projects Financial Analyst serves as the key finance representative at their location and as a member of the plant team is responsible for day-to-day financial activities, plant performance analysis, forecasting and budgets. The Financial Analyst is the key point of contact to help the plant observe, report, forecast, and improve financial performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall responsibility for the accurate financial recording and reporting of capital project spend and startup expenses.
  • Responsible for initial setup of project capital cost tracker and cost breakdown structure.
  • Ensure all purchase orders and invoices are recorded in capital cost tracker and reconcile value to SAP/Coupa.
  • Review project budget, estimate to complete and capital cash flow periodically with project manager.
  • Conduct estimate to complete reviews with project modules owners to accurately report final expected spend and identify risk.
  • Complete month-end reconciliation of project capital cost tracker to SAP.
  • Prepare journal entries during month-end close as needed.
  • Forecast all project capital spend monthly and track actual spend of all project purchase orders and other transactions.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting all expense items against startup budget.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of open purchase order balances.
  • Provide support in the event of project internal and/or external audit to provide necessary documentation/procedures.
  • Calculate final value of new assets at project conclusion and complete financial close to fixed assets.
  • Troubleshoot issues with vendor invoices or payments as needed.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience/knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Relevant work experience in manufacturing environment preferred


Required Length & Type of Experience:
(Indicate if Preferred not required)

  • 3-5 years of work experience in cost accounting (preferred).
  • Strong technical, analytical, and systems skills (SAP, Microsoft Excel) preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills with ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to lead discussions, and work with personnel of various levels inside and outside of the plant
  • Must be able to investigate complex issues and resolve problems.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
