Financial Analyst - 3 months

About the Opportunity

• Identify expense trends and provide explanations to variances
• Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare detailed analysis and monthly financial package for assigned division
• Analyze and review all expense accounts to ensure proper recording or transactions
• Record and tag fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets
• Perform Day-to Day Cash Management and bank reconciliation
• Prepare daily, monthly journals
• Reconcile monthly donations against receipts and accounting system
• Prepare monthly financial statements for special funded projects
• Prepare year-end support of auditor requirements, which includes financial statements, detailed transactions analysis and all related documents for ministry
• Provide support and assistance to the Manager Accounting and Finance in the administration of the Finance Department
• Other duties as assigned

About You

• CPA designation or at the advanced stage towards completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent program
• Experience in financial planning and analysis required
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting or similar accounting position
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (macros and pivot tables), Great Plains experience is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay Rate

$30 - $32/hour
