Description

Under general supervision, the incumbent will be responsible to ensure a positive experience for our members by undertaking various banking functions in a manner that improves the member journey to receiving advice and enhancing financial fitness discussions with Financial Advisors. This is accomplished by completing the administrative functions and non-member facing tasks to provide increased time for a higher level of engagement by the Financial Advisor in member discussions.

Responsibilities include regular proactive contact and follow-up with members, support of initial discussions (lending, investment, account related) with walk in members, a variety of administrative and branch support activities as well as identifying opportunities to improve internal processes to create a better member experience. This role may also assist members with simple services when primary Financial Advisors are not available.

This position is intended to be an opportunity to grow and prepare for the Financial Advisor position. Within 18-24 months of commencing the FAA role, it is our expectation that you will be applying for FA positions as they become available. Should you not be fulfilling the expectations of the FAA role nor on the path to advance, Servus Credit Union may re-evaluate your fit for the role and will work with you in determining a more appropriate role within the organization.

Requirements

Member Account Administration
  • Prepare business accounts for internal branch audit
  • Proactively obtain/prepare appropriate corporate searches and documents before appointments
  • Review personal accounts for completeness, accuracy and ensure they are fully compliant. Look for and bring forward ideas/recommendations for opportunities to shape member financial fitness
  • Audit all MIF updates to confirm the accuracy of data entry. This includes compliance and conformity to corporate standards and policy
  • Responsible as branch contact for Member Contact Center calls and requests
  • New Account opening and reviews: Collect appropriate and necessary information from members in advance of appointment to expedite administrative time during sales appointments
  • Assist Members to close their account. Process inactive account closure transactions
  • Estate account tracking and follow up
  • Changing of signing authorities on organization accounts
Loan Administration
  • Loan Document preparation, entry and storage for all loans including Authorized Overdrafts
  • Use the ’Retail Mortgage Compliance Stages – Detail Listing’ to complete the compliance for files. This role is responsible to question or escalate any noncompliance items
  • Create facilities in Credit Path and enter all relevant information necessary for successful approval/adjudication
  • Provide recommendation on the optimal lending solution and its structure to the Financial Advisor for their comments, approval and Retail Credit submission
  • Prepare loan files for in branch audit and to send to Retail Lending Support
  • Responsible to receive and track deficiencies identified in branch and notifications from ACRS software on behalf of all assigned Financial Advisors. Ensure deficiency corrections are completed with and for the Financial Advisors, as appropriate
  • Review tracked Loan Transaction Notifications with Branch Management and Financial Advisors to identify gaps in credit adjudication, approval and supporting documentation at a schedule set by the Branch Manager
  • Update CreditPath status values to close off completed loan applications and facilities, expired approvals to be withdrawn or obtain an updated approval from the Financial Advisor to ensure credit path pipeline accuracy for senior management reporting
Investment Administration
  • Perform member Term Deposit renewal calls and book appointments
  • Where appropriate assist Members and FA’s with Registered Retirement Savings Plans and Registered Education Savings Plans
  • Prepare T2033s and investment documentation for member investment meeting when required
  • Review completed package for accuracy before sending to Investment Support Services
  • Follow up with Investment Support Services (ISS) to ensure funds are received and advise Members
  • Follow up with members once funds have arrived and book an appointment with the FA for further discussion about how to invest the funds
