Role:

The Finance Supervisor position will oversee and support a team of finance clerks in performing their day-to-day responsibilities. This role will involve providing guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions and processes. Expertise in finance, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise Finance Associates and local AP functions.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance clerks to ensure that all expense invoices are coded correctly and processed promptly, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the preparation and processing of debit notes and credit notes and ensure their accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Oversee the preparation and processing of vendor debit and repayment transactions, maintaining accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct research and follow-up activities to resolve aged vendor payable/invoice issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
  • Support and mentor finance clerks, providing ongoing training, feedback, and performance evaluations to foster their professional development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
  • Is willing to drive Environmental, Health and Safety performance by acting as an example and holding their team accountable to complying with EHS programs, policies, and requirements.
  • Enable, champion and embrace an inclusive culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Post-secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree preferred.
  • Proficient in using financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
