Field Research Technician

Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Field Research Technician works collaboratively with the field biologists and team to manage all aspects of a field research farm program in key Canadian crops including canola, cereals, pulses, corn, soybeans and horticulture crops.

The Field Research Technician we are looking for, will have strong communication skills, be able to manage diverse crops, provide solid agronomic recommendations and work well as a part of a team to run a successful field research program.

As a Field Research Technician (Crop Protection), you will;
  • Assist in the management of crop protection research programs on local research farm
  • Learn / support research farm targets, capabilities, equipment, inventory, cooperating farmers.
  • Support the development of technical training and a learning culture for seasonal research staff.
  • Support an attention to detail that provides for the collection of high quality field research results.
  • Support a leading safety culture at your farm
  • Support local research farm capabilities to achieve key Canadian technical / market targets.
  • Utilize methodologies and capabilities to consistently and efficiently evaluate new crop protection solutions.
Qualifications

Ingredients for Success- What We Look for in You…

As a Field Research Technician (Crop Protection), you will hold;

B.Sc or Diploma in Agriculture/Biology with emphasis on crop science, weed science, agronomy, entomology, plant pathology or related discipline.

Relative field experience, operating field research equipment, maintenance of equipment, establishing field research trials, making applications, conducting evaluations to support product development projects across indications.

In addition;

Actively participate on teams to solve problems or achieve team goals. Strong organizational, time management and project management skills are also a benefit.

Competent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with audiences of varying backgrounds. Experience with development and delivery of presentations to internal customers. Excellent computer skills and proficient in various software programs, including MS office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and MS Teams, as well as videoconference software.
