Job Summary: The FASD Instructional Coach is knowledgeable about FASD, inclusive education, and is skilled at enhancing FASD-informed practices. The FASD Instructional Coach is expected to facilitate ongoing professional development for teachers and educational staff, model and support the use of FASD-informed instructional practices, and contribute to school authorities attaining provincial goals in meeting the diverse learning needs of students with FASD.

The FASD Instructional Coach assists in facilitating change and is a driver of capacity enhancement and teamwork. A primary goal of the Instructional Coach is the facilitation of professional learning in the field of FASD. This includes FASD-informed instructional and classroom management strategies resulting in increased staff knowledge and student engagement. Through collaborative work with educational staff, positive and supportive learning environments will be enhanced. As learning leaders, FASD Instructional Coaches will continue to gain knowledge about emerging trends and research based FASD instructional practices.
