**The hours of this position are flexible depending on the selected candidates’ availability. Hours can range between 17.5 - 35 hours per week.**
POSITION SUMMARY
This is an exciting position for someone who has lived and breathed agriculture for much of their lives and is passionate about supporting farmers and their families create and maintain a healthy life, as well as find solutions to some of life’s challenges.
The Farm Family Wellness Coordinator (FFWC) will travel to many communities across southern Alberta to create trusting relationships with farmers and their families, and connect them to local resources that will support farmers’ wellbeing. The FFWC will also create tools, resources, and presentations that speak to the unique culture and challenges of farmers, and deliver them to local organizations that are not familiar with farm families’ specific wellness needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Has lived, observed, and breathed the unique challenges experienced by agricultural families in rural southern Alberta.
- Is self-motivated and willing to travel to rural communities to network with farmers, their families, and organizations that support farmers (banks, etc.).
- Enjoys speaking with farmers and their families about their unique challenges in the shop, the tractor, or at the kitchen table.
- Has a passion for connecting farm families to local supports and resources, and can anticipate what resources might be needed based on the candidate’s own lived experience in agriculture.
- Has a strong desire to see farm families succeed.
- Has a unique ability to connect positively with farmers and their families.
- Is confident and charismatic.
- Is an excellent communicator that is comfortable speaking in group and one-on-one settings.
EXAMPLES OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Retired agricultural specialists.
- Individuals who have worked in agriculture.
- Individuals with a background in agriculture working in a human services field.
