JBS Equipment is a rapidly growing manufacturing company in Mission, BC. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to help us keep our facility and its equipment in excellent operating condition. The job responsibilities include general maintenance and repairs of tools, equipment, yard vehicles, facilities and company property to ensure excellent operating condition, safety, and cleanliness.

Items to be maintained or repaired are a diverse range from air or electric powered hand tools (drills, angle grinders) to power tools (drill presses, belt sanders, band saws) to welding machines, forklifts, HVAC/Air Handlers, generators, compressors, cranes and more.

MAIN DUTIES:

• Perform preventative maintenance procedures.
• Maintain records of all maintenance and repairs.
• Plan and schedule repairs to minimize impact on production.
• Diagnose and repair broken or poorly operating items.
• Regularly inspect buildings, tools, equipment, and other systems to identify any issues.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, painting, and light carpentry.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Journeyman Millwright or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Thorough understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, equipment, common appliances, and other devices.
• Ability to problem solve under production constraints.
• Ability and desire to work independently.
• Ability to keep meticulous records.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Requires daily walking and standing.
• Frequent visits to areas where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
• Both indoor and outdoor work.
• Exposure to substances like grease, oil, hydraulic fluid, paint, etc.
• Exposure to loud noise requiring hearing protection

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $33.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
