McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for aFacilities Managerto join our team in Florenceville, NB! As the successful candidate, you areresponsible for providing strategic direction and operational leadership related to all aspects of the Florenceville Campus facilities and grounds. This includes responsibility for the sustainability, planning, design, renovation, construction operations, and facility maintenance activities of all non-production facilities. Reporting to the Director, River Valley Strategy, this position will implement and oversee all existing and future development initiatives which align with the overall vision of the company and the River Valley Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • On-site requirement – must perform duties on-site.
  • Oversee the delivery of employee and campus-focused services in grounds maintenance, custodial services, cafeteria services, waste-handling, routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide inspired and consistent leadership to the team with focus on the provision of best-in-class service with strategic focus on environmental sustainability and innovation.
  • Manage projects including developing project specific scopes of work, performing multidisciplinary plan reviews, development of conceptual plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and be accountable for the same.
  • Responsible for creating, implementing and improving Standard Operating Procedures as related to the facilities maintenance function.
  • Negotiate construction agreements and oversee the contractual relationships with vendors/contractors to ensure vendor/contractor performance under these agreements.
  • Responsible for sourcing and securing vendors/contractors to ensure cost-competitiveness.
  • Coordinate construction projects including, but not limited to, project management, oversight and supervision of general contractors, periodic reporting to key internal stakeholders on project progress relative to plan and developing appropriate action plans to manage unforeseen events.
  • Supervise and manage projects meeting all internal and regulatory safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure continuous collaboration with key internal and external business partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team and foster a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Conduct mid-year & annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback, maintaining clear and timely documentation.
  • Coach and manage employees to ensure talent is developed and retained.
  • Ensure application of McCain policies and adhere to processes to ensure compliance and organizational best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary diploma/degree in business, engineering, construction, maintenance with a minimum of 10 years of experience leading capital projects.
  • 10 years’ experience managing people and multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills allowing you to be adaptable and agile
  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships
  • Technical knowledge of building services
  • Ability to think critically and in a complex environment
