Video Producer Job Number : 41703

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) seeks an experienced Video Producer to join the Corporate Communications team. Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Writing, producing, shooting and editing engaging, high quality videos for internal and external audiences, including documentary-style long-form productions, public service announcements, and recruiting and training videos.
  • Setting up and operating audio-visual equipment for live stream events (in-studio or in the field), media availabilities (in studio or on location), and presentations.
  • Developing your original ideas for videos and/or campaigns into finished productions for the EPS’ social media platforms.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications :
  • University graduation from a recognized digital video or media communications program, plus three (3) years’ experience in various areas of specialization in the field of video production with some supervisory experience.

OR

Graduation from a recognized program in audio-visual technology plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in video production, together with some supervisory experience.

OR

Ten (10) years of experience as a video producer (including camera operation and editing) with some supervisory experience.

  • Extensive experience and a successful work history as a producer/cameraperson/editor.
  • Considerable knowledge of audio-visual production equipment as well as editing techniques and practices. This includes current digital video camera standards and non-linear editing systems such as FCP X, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.
  • Experience in a corporate, government, or policing environment would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to bring projects to completion.
  • Ability to operate a drone, glide-cam (gimbal), slider, and other specialized equipment would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with motion graphics using such tools as Apple Motion, Adobe After Effects and other Adobe Creative Suite products (or equivalent) would be considered an asset.
  • Some experience with still photography would an asset.
  • Knowledge of Apple Macintosh operating systems and software is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of Mac networks and NAS/Raid networking is considered an asset.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Applicants may be tested.
  • As part of your pre-hire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work:

33.75 hours per week, between 0800 – 1600 hours. There may also be a requirement for flexible shifts when needed.

Salary Range:

21M, Salary Grade: 022, $38.70 - $48.35 (Hourly), $2,612.60 - $3,264.10 (Bi-Weekly), $68,188.53 – $85,192.94 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
