Position Summary


The Vice President, Operations will be responsible for growth deliverables and driving key quality initiatives which are aligned with executive leadership within PNI Operations. Reporting to the General Manager, the VP, Operations will create an operations vision and strategy, and lead the team to ensure accountability and responsibility of production inventory, quality control and service for the product side of the business. The VP will also be responsible for PNI-wide functions such as Facilities, IT, Business Systems Administration, and EHS The VP, Operations will be accountable for and ensure the key performance drivers (safety, quality, delivery, cost and inventory) are achieved in a timely way and in accordance with the Pall Biotechnology strategy annual targets. Additionally, the VP, Operations will own departmental long-term planning and will ensure that operations adhere to budgets, schedules, and standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Drive key quality initiatives aligned to customer requirements (VOC), industry requirements and business growth strategies
  • Own operations business objectives and defined CVD’s to meet agreed targets
  • Work cross-functionally to achieve KPIs and company goals on product gross margin, inventory, cost and turns, product quality, and in-process yield
  • Drive financial and operational performance across the businesses via managing operations budget and planning
  • Guides the Director of Manufacturing in production of equipment, consumables, and reagents (GMP and RUO)
  • Develop and leverage a network of strong cross functional support across the Biotechnology business
  • Provide direction for supply chain for equipment, consumables and reagents for GMP and RUO working with the Global Sourcing GroupEstablish plans of action for on-time inventory, shortages, material costs, and establish cost improvements
  • Contribute to the overall development and business strategy for facilities, service, and IT
  • Lead efforts in operations excellence and compliance in the BMC and future sites, to include new space planning, sourcing, and project execution
  • Guide the overall functional EHS strategy by applying advanced critical thinking

Qualifications and/or Experience:


  • Advanced degree in a related scientific discipline
  • 15+ years of Senior leadership within Operations
  • Knowledge of Operations practices and processes, with experience leading and developing senior level staff

  • Experience working in a highly technical organization, requiring a comprehensive understanding of complex concepts and principles
  • Ability to apply global business knowledge of key business drivers and factors that maximize performance
  • Ability to Identify and solve complex, operational and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources in or outside the department
  • Seasoned experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
