  • Description:* JOB OVERVIEW The primary function of the Transportation Operations Analyst is to develop and maintain supplier and carrier analysis and reporting tools to support information, measurement, and certification programs. This position will work closely with suppliers and service providers (Cross docks and carriers) to ensure they meet AGI compliance and regulatory requirements. A key objective is to improve DC inbound flow. This role will serve as the main point of contact for our US cross dock and will also involve processing carrier claims and resolving non-approved carrier invoices. BREAKDOWN OF THE ROLE Routine (20-25%)
  • Reviews emails in the AM, address issues that come up (new and recurring),
  • Reports to monitor for on time, volumes (based on frequency and the need)
  • Monitoring yard report for IB, what challenges can he help with
  • Interacts with Services Team, imbedded branches (ex: Timmins), getting branches up and running
  • Asked to assist on Traffic mailbox (on occasion, looks at new items, freight quotes, damaged and lost items for claims, obtain spot quote). Strategic (25%)
  • Ongoing projects – EX: changing routing guide (to work by postal code, more efficient), introducing and managing change Analysis (25% of time) – needs to be able to build queries, look for opportunities. Meetings (25%) RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Enforce Canadian and US Shipping & Routing Guide requirements with all collect suppliers.
  • Support the Canadian and US cross dock teams with all supplier and carrier non-compliance issues.
  • Process claims in a timely manner for the Transportation Department.
  • Enforce carrier non-compliance and hold suppliers accountable for non-approved freight invoices.
  • Provide freight quotes.
  • Respond to Traffic mailbox emails.
  • Execute and communicate change control when supplier information/compliance varies from desired state.
  • Maintain processes to ensure supplier performance to company and customer specifications.
  • Participate in problem solving teams addressing non-conformance.
  • Perform on-site process audits to certify supplier information/conformance processes.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports providing management planning tools.
  • Consult and train product teams on supplier process development to gain better efficiencies through improved processes, which will lead to improved profitability and GP.
  • Communicate with suppliers, carriers, service providers and other Departments via phone and email.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications:* MUST HAVES:
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient with one or more of the following: SQL, Power BI, MS Access
  • Proven experience in ability to visualize, conceptualize, and actualize new concepts, systems, tools, and programs.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in transportation
  • Supply chain experience is an asset.
  • Must be comfortable dealing with push-back from suppliers and carriers. NICE TO HAVES:
  • Experience with packaging and the distribution environment.
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow-up consistently with suppliers, carriers, service providers and other departments. THE TEAM
  • Working with a team of 3. 2 networks analyst and 1 operations analyst.
  • Dress code: business casual DAY-TO-DAY
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Shift: 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM with flexibility
  • Training: On the go with shadowing. Training will be 100% in office.
  • Travel: This role include a territory to cover – travel is required once or twice per year
  • 3-5 days per travel – Territory is Manitoba and everything east of Manitoba.
  • WFH/Office: The candidate will be able to work 2 days per week from home.
  • COVID: Candidate need to be double vaccinated.
  • Parking/Transit: Free parking on site
  • Need to have a car.
