Yelp is looking for a Data Operations Manager to supercharge the Data Science and Analytics organization by increasing the velocity, reliability, and quality of data analytics at Yelp. This role will design and apply best practices in communication, collaboration, integration, automation, measurement and cooperation between data scientists, analysts, data engineers, infrastructure teams and the BI/governance function.

As a key representative of the Data Science and Analytics organization, you will lead multiple cross-functional program-level data initiatives, working with multiple engineers, PMs, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to drive successful execution, product development and objectives in a fast-paced and complex environment.

In this role, you will own project execution, communications and reporting for innovative data products, strategic product reporting tools and behavioral analytics artifacts.

What You Will Do

• The Data Ops Manager will provide guidance and design support for workflows and information pipelines and flows and also design all new processes and workflows around utilizing data, when appropriate.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with data engineering, product management, data science, and executive leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical program objectives.
• Manage sprint plans for Data Science teams (Jira dashboards, measure and track programs from concept to delivery.
• Lead Data Science and Analytics team planning and development activities to ensure projects are completed on-time and within scope and quality constraints.
• Plan, coordinate and manage a large portfolio of Data Science and Analytics initiatives, lead program management team meetings, identify cross-functional dependencies, anticipate, minimize and mitigate risks.
• Identify and manage cross-team technology dependencies and align teams on roadmaps to ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
• Ensure that data science and analytics best practices (Code Reviews, Product Enhancement Proposals, Experimentation and Analysis templates, Documentation) and any other governance requirements are followed.
• Manage data product communications and program-level reporting. Provide transparency and communication to key stakeholders around data portfolio status, risks and change management.
• Evangelize Data Science, Analytics, Applied Machine Learning and Data Platform initiatives and products across the company.
• Proactively identify and remove blockers for the Data Science and Analytics team, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Perform and deliver analysis on data product adoption, customer maturity model and drive adoption strategies.
  

What We Look For

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels including executive leadership team, managers, and peers.
• 2+ years experience in project leadership in Analytics, Data Science, ML or Engineering projects.
• Excellent technical fundamentals with a solid track record of delivering results for large and complex projects.
• The ability to drive internal process improvements across multiple teams.
• Ability to communicate complex plans effectively and understand tradeoffs.
