Job Summary

We are seeking for a Technical Analyst Help Desk to provide technical assistance and support to Charles River Laboratories - Laval computer system users which includes, but is not limited to: workstations, laptops, Thin Clients, phone system and printers. Assist colleagues of the IT department.

Responsibilities
  • Answer and document requests from users concerning usage of the computer, phone system, printers, etc;
  • Recognize and transfer problematic service calls to a 2nd or higher level;
  • Solve problems encountered by users, which were caused by a failure of the computer system;
  • Teach users how to use a computer or peripheral components when required;
  • Organize, configure and install workstations for office or laboratory use in compliance with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Perform tasks required by the IT department;
  • Manage time effectively;
  • Seek development from more senior staff;
  • Remain informed on all legislation and developments related to job through self-education and external training;
  • Substitute and/or assist department colleagues;
  • Must be available to work on various work shifts (including nights and weekends);
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be required.
Job Qualifications
  • College degree in computer sciences;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT environment;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems;
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory;
  • Good knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol and networking equipments;
  • Certifications such as MCP, MCSE, CCNA, A+, Network+ would be an interesting asset;
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required;
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;
  • Flexibility to work on changing work schedules;
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
