Overview:

Under the supervision of the System Performance Specialist, the System Performance Programmer Analyst works closely with the system performance team, which is responsible for the measurement, maintenance, and reporting of a series of numerous organizational metrics and indicators. The incumbent will write reports using data to demonstrate organizational adherence data management and analysis ensuring adherence to standards and indicators such as those related to wait-times, workload, department-specific key performance indicators, patient satisfaction, and other metrics. The System Performance Programmer Analyst will extract and use, or request from other staff as necessary, the system performance-related data to be compiled and analyzed

The System Performance Programmer Analyst must also comprehend the Executive dashboard, department scorecards, organizational dashboards, data specification documentation through the SharePoint website, and will coordinate other System Performance projects and deliverables as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Health Information Management, Health Sciences or related fields
  • Minimum 1 - year direct experience in healthcare environment
  • Minimum 1 - year experience with advanced statistical analysis software such as SAS including demonstrated abilities involving data linkage, data manipulation, and use of procedures for statistical analysis.
  • Minimum 1 - year experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Experience in writing technical reports with a high level of proficiency
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada

Will be assessed during the interview process:

  • Must have good organization skills
  • Must have good interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently, as part of a team, and with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, staff and management
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet scheduled deadlines

Preferred:

  • Advanced training in data collection, analysis and data management

Asset:

  • Knowledge of cancer coding (e.g., ICD-O)
  • Certificate in Project Management or Business Analysis
  • Detailed knowledge of other statistical languages (R, STATA, SPSS)
  • Experience in application development, user training and support
  • Experience in SharePoint design/librarian
  • Knowledge of Manitoba’s oncology care system (ARIA)
  • Familiarity with administrative databases
  • Bilingual (English/French)
Salary:Non-Union
