Provide leadership and management of the warehouse team in all functional activities; develop and support excellence in product quality, customer service and profitability. The Warehouse Supervisor – Shipping/Receiving is in charge of inventory in the warehouse, leading the team of inventory and warehouse workers to receive and record new stock as it comes in and move stock onto trucks or racks / shelves as needed. He/she promotes a continuous improvement environment among the warehouse staff and leads continuous improvement initiatives presented.

Key Accountabilities:

Supervision

  • Leadership and management of the department staff through continuous direction, priority setting, and develop an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ensures all staff are properly trained and competent in the operation of equipment
  • Construct training, development and succession plans for all staff. Conduct performance evaluations; provide accurate and timely communication on all performance and development issues.

Compliance

  • Ensures the quality/accuracy of shipping and receiving documentation complies with all legislative and internal company requirements.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe working environment. Ensures adherence to all Health and Safety rules and regulations; ensures all equipment is properly maintained, accurate records are held, and all workers wear personal protective equipment available and used.
  • Delivers Monthly Safety Talks, partakes in Safety Observations program
  • Ensures all documentation maintained in compliance with SOPs and GMP requirements.

Daily Activities

  • Manages efficient material flow that supports all production / manufacturing operations.
  • Manage timely, accurate and cost effective inbound shipments that support the company targets
  • Negotiation of freight and trucking rates; Complete freight audits and process claims as necessary
  • Manages NCM, sound knowledge of Visual Quality System.
  • Connect with external clients to arrange freights ensuring proper communication.

Process

  • Report KPI’s, identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead projects of Continuous Improvement.
  • Recommends, develops and implements process improvements in the workflow for all receiving / incoming issues.

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehousing/logistics operations in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or related industry (GMP environment)
  • Minimum 3 years’ demonstrated leadership capabilities in coaching and developing others
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of and trained on GMP requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and good communication skills; self-motivated; highly organized with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience working on continuous improvement initiatives/projects
  • Proven records on Healthy and Safety practices

Nice to have(s):

  • Forklift license
  • Experience with WMS implementation
  • Project Management experience
