The Luma Pictures finance team is looking to bring on a Staff Accountant to fill an open role in Accounts Receivable. This role ensures that customers are being billed correctly, receipts are posted accurately and timely, and sales has the proper support when new bids or change orders are made.

We’re looking for an individual that is self-motivated, detail oriented, and collaborative as this role is a key player that interfaces between sales, accounting, and external customers.

The ideal candidate has between 1-3 years experience in an accounting or financial analyst role as a newly designated CPA or is on track to receive their CPA.

Please note that candidates must be based in British Columbia for consideration.

You Can

    • Assist with client onboarding into Netsuite ERP system
    • Respond to client set-up and invoicing inquiries
    • Manage the preparation of client invoices and PO’s in accordance with contracted payment schedules and deliverable milestones
    • Maintain client payment schedules per contracts and change orders
    • Support bidding/sales teams with preparation of change orders
    • Support bidding/sales with studio split allocations for invoicing and tax rebate purposes
    • Run AR aging summary for bi-monthly billing cycle
    • Prepare revenue related journal entries and accruals per US GAAP
    • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger monthly
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing process and prepare accounts receivables-related schedules for review
    • Provide various ad-hoc reports as needed
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

You Have

    • 1 to 3 years in accounting related roles
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
    • CPA designated or soon to be completed CPA designation required
    • Strong proficiency in Excel required
    • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite a plus
    • Prior experience with film or post-production studio government rebates a plus
    • Bonus skill : If you’ve worked with Netsuite ERP systems and/or have relevant work experience in other film/tv/entertainment studios.
