We are #hiring a Sr Geoscientist to be a part of our multi-disciplinary Terra Nova team in St. John’s. If you have a passion for assessing opportunities through advanced techniques and have a strong sense of accountability, we want to hear from you!

You will support asset development opportunities by identifying and maturing infill potential through interpretation of well and 3D seismic data, to optimize and grow production. This opportunity will allow you to gain valuable exploration and production (E&P) experience as part of a talented integrated team on Suncor’s only E&P operated asset.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in development or exploration geology, including exposure to drilling operations
  • A Bachelor’s degree in geology or earth science
  • Proficient in detailed log analysis for reservoir mapping and volumetrics, developing depositional models, interpreting, and creating subsurface formation maps
  • Ability to integrate various subsurface datasets and skillsets to offshore investment decisions
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the value potential of opportunities through performing deterministic and probabilistic hydrocarbon volume and risk analyses of opportunities within the Terra Nova field
  • Act as an integral contributor to subsurface peer reviews
  • Proactively work as a key contributor of an integrated team including reservoir, production, and drilling and completion engineering to progress growth opportunities to execution
  • Interface, collaborate and align with Terra Nova partners
  • Grow and enable junior geoscientists through formal and informal mentoring and coaching

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our St. John’s office, located at 130 Kelsey Drive
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
