About the opportunity

At CPA Canada, you’ll be part of a high-caliber team that stands out for the quality of its work and professionalism. You will use your skills and experience in translation tool management and your strong customer service skills to support Language Services staff, internal clients and freelancers in their use of these tools. What you’ll do

As Manager, Learning and Development, you will:

  • Provide technical support for the translation management system (FlowFit) and CAT tools LogiTerm, Trados Studio and Alexa (NMT), as well as other applications as needed
  • Manage these tools (updates, upgrades, development), set up accounts and manage user access
  • Proactively collaborate with software developers and CPA Canada’s IT department
  • Train Language Services staff, internal clients and freelancers to ensure optimal use of the tools; create user guides and update as needed
  • Identify opportunities for improved quality and efficiency in the application of tools (e.g., TM maintenance, terminology extraction, alignment processes)
  • Advise Language Services management on IT developments in the translation and localization industry
  • Take part in the activities of various committees or task forces set up by Language Services (e.g., Digital Innovation Committee) or CPA Canada (e.g., cybersecurity, business continuity)
  • Create new types of reports in the BI (IBM Cognos Analytics) application as required

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Diploma in computer sciences and/or bachelor’s degree in translation
  • At least three years of experience managing industry-standard CAT tools like LogiTerm, Trados Studio or memoQ
  • At least two years of experience with workflow management tools such as FlowFit
  • Advanced skills in MS Office
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills for creative solutions
  • Client-centric with excellent communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, outstanding organizational skills and ability to set and revise priorities as needed
