JOB SUMMARY

Hillrom Canada is seeking a Shipping Representative for its’ Canadian warehouse based in Mississauga. Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, the successful candidate will work with other members of the team to provide warehousing, shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities in support of our business, customers, and team and in a safe, efficient, professional, and collaborative manner.

All positions require physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, bending and grasping. Employees must be able to frequently lift and maneuver products up to 40 lbs. and be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.

Hillrom provides training and information on body mechanics, proper lifting techniques, and stretching routines to enable employees to work effectively and safely.

The role also requires computer knowledge and familiarity to enter data and information for inventory and order processing purposes.

The following is a list of sample tasks typically performed by Shipping Representatives:

  • Loads and unloads materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks and shelves, or vehicles, such as trucks
  • Stacks or piles materials, such as bins, boxes, or pallets
  • Receive, put away, pick, deliver and pack items according to established operating procedures
  • Documents inventory handled and moved using a combination of paper-based and/or electronic platforms
  • Attach material identification tags/label information on containers
  • Cleans work area, using brooms, rags, and cleaning compounds
  • Follow all safety and work productivity protocols as defined
  • Able to use lift trucks, pallet jacks and hand trucks
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of high school diploma
  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in warehouse and/or distribution environment
  • Computer skills for data entry, training, and documentation
  • Experience and skill in SAP/JDE system will be considered an asset
  • Aptitude for fundamental mathematical skills, e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Valid passport for training and meetings
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
  • Communicate information and ideas verbally, in writing, and electronically
  • For on-going training, the ability to read, comprehend, and apply learnings provided through printed materials, electronically, and experiential
  • Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment, and willingness to motivate and support others
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
